Why does everyone think cats are funny?

I truly do not understand this. Weird pictures of cats with stupid captions... Seriously, google image search words like "funny" or "hilarious" and at least one cat picture will probably be on the first page. What is so damn funny about cats?

2. For me its the way they look, they're cute yet really funny looking and they just act funny as hell...have you seen the youtube video: Stealth cat!! And those LOLCats pictures have made me like cats a lot more!
