What are some fun things I can do with my dog in the snow?
So, I was wondering, I have a husky mix, he's about 2 years old, it's winter right now, and he seems to be getting bored with just going on our daily walks. We live in a townhouse, so I make sure to take him out after school for plenty of exercise. We also play inside. I was wondering, what are some other things I can do with him? It's nsowing out here, and he seems to take to it really well. Thanks!

- get some long branches or something you can toss and is light enough for him to run after and fetch. Dogs love chasing things be it branches, or Frisbees.
- Running
- A husky is made for snow, so it's quite natural for him to love it. My dog loves a game of trying to chase after/catch snowballs. ;) Some dogs like to try and tunnel in the snow, just make sure they aren't going for the kind of tunnels that can collapse on them, as it could be deadly. (This is usually in a place with lots of snow tho.)
- when i use to live in snowy areas we use to take our dogs out side and throw snow ball and they would chase them... we would also trow treats in the snow so that they could look for it... we all had a lot of fun
- If you buy a sledge and a harness for your dog and find a large empty field (with no barbed wire, litter or anything that could generally hurt your dog). If you attach the sledge to the harness and secure it tightly like a lead, shout go and ready or run or whatever you like to get him to go then you can go sledging! Its great exercise and fun for your dog, fun for you but not tiring for you! Just be sure you can command your dog to stop and use your common sense e.g. don't do it near a road or on private property! If your dog is well trained and you are safe and sensible it could be a great thing to do with your friends etc!
- I have 3 Shih Tzu's and they love the snow too. A few things I do with them . . . I make a foot path around the yard with several shortcuts within it, and they love to run and chase me. Also, I have a laser that I take out and shine it in the snow. They love to chase and try to catch the light. They don't stay out too long, tho'. Too cold for them, even with their sweaters on.
- you could throw snowballs or a tennis ball in the snow, take him to a dog park, frisbee, walk in the park etc. I'm sure he'd love anything to do with the snow it's just up to what you'd like to do :) hope this helps!
