who's getting over 2 feet of snow this weekend and how are your dogs dealing?

we have about 18 inches so far and it's not suppose to stop until Saturday night. They are predicting 30 inches total. my dogs are having a blast, but I'm not - too much shoveling and the snow is heavy. I shoveled the driveway for the dogs, but they prefer to "go" in the deep snow. how are you dealing with taking your dog out in this weather? more bored: lol, i like that pic - my dogs love it too. adopted...the worst is yet to come w/ this storm. take care, you might not get out tomorrow. same here xeso - i'm in the country and don't leash my dogs on my property - only the puppy - and right now don't have to leash her - she can't go far in the snow! she's like a rabbit hopping through the stuff!

  1. the snow is coming down here. My dog, makes a quick pee on the porch then runs back inside.
  2. I'm not as far as I know. But this is how my dogs deal: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3355/3207894377_785a09075a.jpg
  3. Yeah, we are in this snow storm as well. My Pit bull mix ran around a lot today, and had a blast pouncing through the snow. Our hound mix, however, came in limping really badly on his left hind leg. Clearly he slipped on the snow and caught himself wrong, and pulled a muscle. He is also sick. Vet tomorrow, yay.....!!!
  4. we aren't this weekend but 2 feet happens plenty off around here. weirdly warm winter this year... shovelling isnt too fun thats why everyone around here has fourwheel plows) but as for the question in your title, any dogs but chihuahas (that spelled right?) seem to deal fine with even 3 feet of snow. they'll play right through it even when they have to stick their heads up to get them over the snow. If we actually had to take our dogs out and keep them on a leash we would not be able to deal with it, thats one of the reasons we live in the country now. if dogs get away in town when there is a lot of snow then they're impossible to catch up to. one of our dogs got ran over that way. edit: more bored collie's pic says it perfectly
