can horses have babies right now?

i had 2 horses before but they were both boys but now we have a boy and girl horse that we just got a week ago. a couple of my p-arents friends who know a lot about horses said that she looks preg-nant, and if she is can she give birth now or will it be spring when she has it? i need help like asap thanks a bunch i appreciate it. :)

1. call the vet and have him or her ultrasound her. You should have them checked out anyways.
2. The only way to be sure is by palpation. Have an equine vet examine your mare. The vet will be able to tell if the foal is well developed and near the end of gestation. I've watched my mares deliver 3 foals and had to help with 1 and with a friends mare also. It's an incredible experience. I still have a gelding and mare that I watch being delivered over 15 years ago. Get a copy of a book called "A Horse Of Your Own". I found the information in the book quite helpful. I still refer to it from time to time after more than 20 years of "horsing around". Good luck.
