Is it possible to cross breed guinea pigs?

Is it possible to breed abysinian male and a smooth coat female? I heard that some breeds cannot cross breed. It can be deadly.

2. You can, but check on the genetics of the two like e.g abysinnian have traditionally poor eyesight and breeding it with another with bad genetics can sometimes be dangerous to the litter.. Do more research or leave it to the professionals
3. As long as it is the same species, so yes. You could artificially inseminate a chihuahua with semen from a great dane. Shit, some-one's gotta try that.
4. yes a male guniea will mate with any female and it will be ok, as if the genitics is good well that can be diffrent, iv bread heaps over the years and they are all ok, but maybe find out and see what expert info is out there, but i do think it is safe, they are all rodents, hope that helps good luck
