Hickory is a 7 year old quarter horse, we barrel race. Sorry the pictures aren't the best! what do you think of her? the summer picture, her hooves need a trim, but they have been done multiple times since then :) she just had them done again yesterday :)

  1. i could only see out of one picture, so im no one to judge if you have or not yet, but her toes look long in the first pic. they could use a trimming if they havent already :) i like her alot! she has a very pretty color, and her summer coat would be awesome! I think she needs a little more muscle toning, riding/working her everyday is a must to keep those legs and butt good and quarter horse looking! :) i just went to a horse show and there were alot of quarter horses there, they were all gorgeous! they had a stallion review, which about killed me because they were so beautiful!! anyways, your horse is gorgeous, but muscle toning is needed thanks!
  2. Hickory's toes did look a little long, but nothin a good trim won't fix lol. I'm going through my horse judging in my Ag 1 class right now. I love horses :) but that's off the point sorry. She had a good skeltal structure and by the picture looked like she had a good slope to her shoulder giving her the long stride she would need to get a fast time. um well all round she looks to be a great mare. Hope you do well in barrel racing :)
  3. Corry Are you happy with her? Then why do you care what others think. She looks to be a very sweet horse and you sound like you love her a lot. There is NO horse born perfect and unless you are breeding her or preparing her for an in hand class I would just enjoy her. If you are preparing to breed her or show her in hand then the question is quite different and you need input from the AQHA which we all could give opinions but you know what people say about opinions ,we all have one.
  4. For a quarter horse she has an excellent build, the slope of her shoulder and hip look excellent; back is a bit short, but that's usually a good sign for a barrel racer; her pasterns are actually at the perfect angle (not too short, not too long) meaning that her stride and gate should be flowing and smooth and not too choppy, which can be a problem among quarter horses. She looks like a sweet little girl :)
  5. Hickory looks like he is in good shape for a barrel racing QH. he is very strongly built
