CaTs ?????

k, have you ever heard people say "cats have nine lifes" or "cats always with land on their paws" I always wonder if these two things are true? and well my question is, is this true and why or its not true and why. (please don't answer b/c you think but b/c you know!)

  1. no...they're not true...they're what you would call old wives' tales because my cat falls on his side all the time out of the trees he climbs and ive had several kittens that died (yea, very sad) so its not true
  2. cats do seem to have multiple lives in certain situations, but obviously if it gets hit by a car its dead. some time in the 90's they did a cruel research on the feet thing and as long as they have enough time to figure out what's going on then yes they do land on their feet. Sometimes when they are playing they'll land on their side, but for the most part yes they do land on their paws
  3. Not True. Only one life - they are just so smart and tricky that people came up with the saying of nine lives because they could not believe how many "jams" they get themselves out of. As for landing on their feet; again no. They have such great balance that often they will but I have had cats forever and some are dorkier than others. Also working at the Vet Hospitals I have seen the repercussions of cats Not landing on their feet after falls from balconies and trees alike. :)
  4. No offence or anything..but that is all fake. Cats don't have a soul. People come up with these..white lies to make us all feel good. I like to pretend in animal heaven...but i don't think thats real. I do belive in people heaven tho! :) Hope i helped.
  5. People saw cats have nine lives BECAUSE they land on their feet. Cats usually do land oin their feet, but too high, goodbye.
  6. As horseplay#9 says no and for those reasons. After reading Stoves response though I wonder if anyone could explain to themselves what they think a soul is and then look at your animal companion and say they have none.
  7. They're not true. These are called folk myths, like breaking a mirror causes 7 years bad luck, or stepping on a crack breaks a mothers back. None of them are true.
