How can i get gloss out of my boxer dogs fur without harming it.?

My boxer dog is 6 months old and its got some gloss on its ear when I was glossing my kitchen door so if you have any answers please tell me.

1. it will wear off as the hair grows
2. Wash it off, whatever does not wash out will grow out.
3. Use a little hand lotion. It penetrates the hair shaft and helps lift the stuff. I have tried it on paint and it works for that.
