  2. It all depends if you want to stay close to home or go further away. Some schools even have special pre-veterinary programs that can help you meet the prerequisites for vet school sooner. I am in my first year of college and there are a few things now that I wish I had known when I first applied. First of all there is no actual degree required for most vet schools, most students admitted to vet school do have some degree but not all do. Second of all it is perfectly fine to go to a tech school the first few years because it is just prerequisite courses, most of which are offered at any tech school. Try talking to a guidance counselor or go onto the university system for your state to get an idea of programs offered in your area. Most of the small animal vet people from my school are majoring in biology, but you can major in just about anything, just make sure you are ready for tons of chemistry courses.
  3. Purdue University in Lafayette Indiana has a really good vet program!
  4. davis in california ohio state in ohio ask your counselor at school
