Cross Breeds

What is it that allows mammals like dogs, cats to thrive by eating thrash and drinking water from the curb?

Do they produce certain enzymes that allows them to digest all that. Is it that those species have more leukocytes and anti-bodies than man does?. Those stray animals drink from the curb and don't get sick like a man would. Correct me if I am wrong.

  1. What exactly is Thrash?
  2. No, you're right: animals have better natural protection from germs and other "pollutants" than man does ... which is also why animals don't tend to get atmospheric allergies like we do! What if a sheep had a wool allergy?!? Or a bee who was sensitive to pollen?
  3. I don't know, but the phrase "sick as a dog" comes to mind.
  4. When any animal eats or drinks something off of the street, that doesn't mean it won't get sick. Remember 90% percent of feral stray animals on the street have disease like Rabies, parasites, etc. Different animals have different immune systems. Some animals maybe immune to things that could kill others, or Vi's versa. For example the Sydney Funnel Web Spider is highly venomous to humans, but does little to dogs and cats, wile on the other hand the Baboon Spider which is lethal to dogs and cats, is considered harmless to humans. It depends on whats being ingested or how different bodies handle different items.
