Maine coon cats and rats?

I love cats and would love to get a maine coon in the near future, but I have no idea where the nearest breeder is. I usually rescue cats, but I've always wanted a maine coon but I've never seen them in any rescue centre, if anyone knows the location of any breeders could you please let me know? I would also like to find someplace that breeds gambian rats, I've had them before but that was when I was very young and I would like to have them again. I live in Wales (Not New Wales Australia, Wales Britain) so if you know of any breeders of these animals nearby I would be grateful if you could give me a number, address or E-mail. Yes Arrogant Cat I know there are many cats in care, but I've already got 4 cats that I've rescued, and will continue to rescue them for as long as I am able to care for them(providing the get along with my othher animals of course). Also I'd like to rescue a maine coon, but like I said there aren't any in my local shelters or in any of the shelters that I've visited more afield. But thanks for your answer anyhow. 1. Thousands of cats die homeless every year. Why do you need a pure-bred Maine Coon cat? What is so special about them, that you cannot find in another cat? I highly suggest adopting a rescue cat. Visit your local shelter -- to me, adopting has to be less about the breed, and more about the individual cat. You can talk all day long about breed temperaments, but these are only generalizations, and not all pure-breds are guaranteed to have their breed temperament. I live in Maine and happen to have a Maine Coon mix who found me in the shelter. We have tons of Maine Coon mixes that end up in the shelters here -- and tons of other sweet cats, too.
2. Are you sure about this? 3. You could try to get a Maine Coon rescue. I found these two in England: http://www.catchat.org/adoption/pedigree.html Also found this pet search site.
