  1. I would mix a dolphin with a poodle and call it a dolphoodle.
  2. 1) Australian cattle dog and labrador retriever 2) labrador retriever and weimeraner 3) Golden retriever and lab mix 4) collie and terrier? 5) Pug and Boston terrier 6) lab retriever and boxer 7) sharpei and lab? 8) Daschund and corgi I guessed just about all of them so try not to laugh too hard at my answers. lol
  3. I don't know why anyone would have a problem with crosses being created for a real purpose, since that's how ALL breeds started out. Like it or not, if you go back far enough all dogs are mutts. Right now I have a Lab/Cocker mix (we think). This mix is the most gorgeous dog I've ever seen.
  4. 1. Rhodesian ridge back and lab? 2. lab and beagle? 3. no idea 4. some sort of terrier? 5. pug and somthing else 6. lab and retriever 7.ahhh i cant remember what its call but its so cute! bull dog and something? 8. beagle and something I would mix a poodle with a collie, and call it a coodle :) I think that cross breeds are good because it enables dogs to help with the police, therapy dogs, etc. big dogs and dogs with long noses are good to mix for tracking purposes. i think it is a good idea :)
  5. These are all just GUESSES: 1-Lab/Blue Tick Coonhound 2-Lab/Border Collie 3-Golden Retriever/Poodle 4-Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie 5-Boston Terrier/Pug 6- I'm gona say one of the Cur breeds? 7-Shar Pei/Dachshund 8-Dachshund/Min Pin I suppose if created for a specific purpose it's OK to mix breeds, but still... there are so many breeds out there, I'm sure there are BREEDS to fill every niche. If I had to own a mixed breed, something small and cute, maybe a Pap/Cavalier King Charles cross?
  6. 1. Black Lab x German Short Hair Pointer 2. Chocolate Lab x Bloodhound or Bassett, or Beagle 3. Lab x Poodle 4. Australian Cattle Dog x Border Collie 5. Pug x Boston Terrier 6. Lab x Pit 7. Shar Pei x Bassett 8. Min Pin x Dachshund Cross Breeds for what actual purpose? No cross breeds...they are mutts. I would have a Lab mix with Border Collie.

  9. 1. German Shorthaired Pointer and Labrador Retriever 2. Labrador Retriever and Border Collie 3. Labrador Retriever and Poodle 4. Australian Cattle Dog and Border Collie 5. Boston Terrier and Pug 6. Plott Hound and Labrador Retriever 7. Chinese Shar-Pei and Dachshund 8. Dachshund and Miniature Pinscher 1. The only crossbreed that I think was created for a great purpose was the Australian Labradoodles. Since those kind dont shed they are great guide dogs for people with allergies. 2. I already own a bunch of mixed/cross breeds. I used to own a Labradoodle. Currently own a Chihuahua/Poodle, a Pekingese/Pomeranian, and 2 Chihuahuas/Rat Terriers but I have always wanted to own a Border Collie and Australian Shepherd cross. I have seen them a pups and they are so cute and make great farm goods and I just like the 2 crossed together. Purebreds are my favorites but some dogs to me seem better crossed together. Like Chihuahuas and Poodles look great as purebreds but Chihuahua/Poodle looks like a whole different dog.
  10. 1. German Shorthaired Pointer/Weirmerimer 2. Lab/Chesapeake Bay Retriever 3. Poodle/Lab 4. Australian Heeler/Australian Shepherd 5. French Bulldog/Chihuahua 6. Lab/Viszla 7. Shar pei/Lab 8. Min Pin/Dachshund Legit: Well, there are enough actual breeds out there that I don't think there is really a need to cross-breed for a certain task. But, if you really need a dog that has to have a combination of qualities for a certain job, I suppose it's fine. It would be a mutt from the shelter, but matbe a GSD/Belgian Malinois
  11. 5) pug & chihuahuah 6) labrador & beagle 7) bulldog & dachshund OR beagle OR lab/golden retriever 8) daschund & beagle not sure about 1-4 though. don't really have a view on cross-breeds created for a purpose. it's neither right nor wrong not sure but there'd probably be a bit of irish red & white setter in there...
  12. 1. 2. Labrador x Beagle 3. Poodle x GR 4. Red Cattle Dog x Border Collie 5. Boston Terrier x Pug, or French Bulldog x Pug. 6. I'm guessing a Mountain Cur or Mountain View Cur 7. Shar Pei x Basset Hound 8. Dachshund x Min Pin Legit: I don't mind farmer mixing herding and working dogs like Kelpies, Cattle Dogs and Border Collies to create a work-driven farm dog. Then that dog has a purpose. This practice does go on here in Australia all the time and these mutts can and do go for high prices because of their value as a hard working animal. If *I* had to mix two breeds together, I'd probably mix the Malinois (sorry Greek!) and the German Shepherd to create what I would hope to be good K-9's.

  14. 1 ~ Pointer x labrador retriever? Maybe pointer x greyhound? That's quite a tuck-up . . . . 2 ~ No idea! Beautiful color, though : ) 3 ~ Standard poodle x golden retriever OR labrador retriever 4 ~ Cattle dog mix? Collie mix? 5 ~ Pug x Boston terrier? 6 ~ Looks like a purebred Plott hound to me - http://www.savecarolinadogs.com/images/PlottHound.jpg 7 ~ Oh dear - I don't know, shar pei x basset hound? 8 ~ Dachshund x Jack Russell terrier? What a nice reprieve from ignorant children - thanks Herbie & Fern! Legit: If the people breeding crossbreed dogs use genetically screened dogs that are of impeccable health and conformation, and like any good breeder have the litter sold before they're even whelped, then sure. Because the people needing these types of working dogs cannot trust unknown shelter dogs around their stock, and so it is not as if these mutts are taking homes away from shelter mutts.
  15. 1) pointer/lab or pointer/dane 2) hound/lab 3) labradoodle 4) red heeler/border collie 5) bug 6) mountain cur 7) shar pei/basset 8) dachshund/min pin legit; my bloodhound/apbt is the best, I'd own another if I HAD to or a mastiff/irish wolfhound or a mastiff/dane
