Why wild animals in the forest can detect danger?

My teacher told me when a volcano`s gonna errupt, the wild animals such as snakes, lion, etc. gonn go out of the forest and go to the city.

1. animals have a great sensing level .. they can sense things before they happen. for example .. if u tried approaching a lion . off 30 yards it will get up and start walkin towards you to scare you off. they sense the good from the bad, depending on sizes, looks, and actions
2. Animals pay more attention to minute changes in their environment than we do. People have the same senses, although possibly not as acute, but we are usually concentrating on more abstract things, and tend to ignore these minute warnings.
3. I don;t think that your teacher is entirely correct in that statement. Cats, dogs and farm animals can detect an oncoming earthquake long before we can or even our most sophisticated instruments.
