Is the BLM doing a good genuine job taking care of wild horses?

Im currently a college student and i am thinking about seriously making my goal to work for the BLM and help wild horses. I have heard a great deal of good stories about what they do and what they are about, however I have also heard negative things. please give your opinions and why. evidence of why you think this will greatly help me. thank you in advance.

  1. If you mean mostly keeping a hands-off policy and letting the mustangs take care of themselves, the BLM is doing an excellent job. Every so often, they cull the herd to insure that it does not contain more horses than the environment can support properly. This too is done well. This is hardly a major portion of their work, though and you will be unlikely find a job that allows you to spend all your time on caring for the horses.
