  1. Many terrier dogs have curly hair and are small. Otherwise, most small dogs have short or long straight hair.
  2. Miniature or toy poodles
  3. Depends upon what you call "small", but right now all I can think of is the poodle. They come in 3 sizes, have very curly hair, don't shed and are extremely easy to train.
  4. Nothing "stays" small =TOY breeds grow into small ADULTS! akc.org= GO READ BREED STANDARDS Small & curly are NOT real criteria for choosing a breed...unless one too immature to buy any dog at all.
  5. Shih Tzu
  6. A minor cannot purchase or adopt a dog.
  7. Excuse me? You are trying to find a dog TODAY?? Acquiring a dog for the next 14 years of it's life is not an instant "off the shelf" decision to be taken lightly, and just on it's appearance, like a new jacket or dress, it is a lifetime, life changing decision to be given as much consideration as having a baby - both will be with you for about as long! You need to look for a dog that will fit your lifestyle in trainability, energy, temperament, amount of grooming required, cost of upkeep and veterinary care, etc. # To answer your question, I can only think of Toy Poodle (which requires clipping by a groomer every 6 weeks) .
  8. Maltese, I have one. what a love muffin.
  9. Well I have a yorkie, they are really, cute, stay small forever, and are good apartment dogs. I dont live in an apartment so they can live anywhere. Also, they love to play and are really nice! But they do need grooming. And a poodle are chiwawa(spelt wrong) similar. You shoulg google your question to,to find more breeds. Hope I helped. :)
  10. Try a terrier with a papillon - curly tails for sure
  11. probably toy poodles
  12. Shitzu
  13. Toy Poodles stay small but some have tight curls and others have looser curls and still others have just wavy hair. They all need to be groomed every 6-8 weeks to maintain Fine Poodle look. They grow to about 10 inches high, and adult weight is about 6-8 pounds.
  14. Pugs! They are really cute and have little curly tails! Also, maybe a Yorkshire terrier or Shih zu's!
  15. You're looking at Miniature and Toy Poodles. Don't make an impulse purchase. Buying a dog pronto is almost always a mistake. Take your time and look. We found our Sammy, a Poodle/Schnauzer mix, at a rescue we found on http://petfinder.com/
  16. Look in the AKC Toy group for breeds. The first that comes to mind is the Toy Poodle. Some of the other smaller dogs have kinda wavey/curly type of coat.
  17. Bichon Frise. Their hair is curly and they don't shed so they're considered hypoallergenic dogs. They will have to be groomed regularly though. I have two and they're full grown, each only about 15lbs and stand about 12 inches. They're also very docile lap dogs. Good luck in your search!
  18. Miniature Poodles. Another really good breed is the American Cocker Spaniel! Check them out here http://www.zimfamilycockers.com/
  19. I think a Toy or Miniature Poodle would be ideal for you. Here is some information for you on this breed. These happy-go-lucky dogs make superb companions, they are probably the smartest of all dogs, easy to train and willing to learn not only any trick you care to teach it, but also a few of its own and there is noting a Poodle can’t or won’t learn.. They also possess very acute hearing and an excellent sense of orientation, they are also very active, athletic, loyal and tireless clowns who make unsurpassed children’s companions that don’t mind letting themselves be dressed up in the most outlandish costumes. But beware the only problem which can arise with Poodles is if force is used in training and if they get spoilt too much, they can become obstinate and resentful. Height: Toy 10” (25cms) Miniature 11-14” (28-35cms) Weight: Toy up to 11lbs (5kg) Miniature 15lbs (7kg) The elegant Poodle sports a double coat of profuse, woolly and very curly hair, which can and often does get clipped into some of the most varied and interesting designs. Their colours range from black, white, brown, silver and apricot. It is very interesting to notice that a lot of puppies are born one colour and as they mature this colour slowly changes to white. Regular grooming plays a very important part in the Poodles life because if left unclipped their continuously growing coat can become unkempt and matt into cords and smell. These dogs love their weekly bath time and need to be regularly clipped or trimmed every 4 to six weeks and if given the simple all-over “lamb” cut they will look elegant and retain their dignity. It is also important to ensure hat they also have their nails clipped and the hairs plucked out of their ears (to avoid wax build up) at the same time. Poodles have longer life expectancies than virtually all other breeds because of their general good health The Poodle is a perfect companion to any allergy sufferers as they are less likely to trigger an allergic response in people than other breeds, as skin problems are rare and because they get bathed and clipped on a regular basis. They are very suitable for small yards and apartments and even though they love lots of exercise it can be taken in small open areas. They are very playful and tireless and make great playmates for most children.
