Is keeping wild animals in Zoo Justifiable ?

We catch animals from the wild and keep them in the Zoo. In some places Zoo keeping is so bad that these animals are sometimes starved and some may die due to improper care.

  1. HMM NICE QUESTION IF U HAVE ANY SOLUTION FOR THESE MESS WITH WWF OK.
  2. Very unfortunate.
  3. talk to wwf.
  4. yes its justifiable to keep them in a place where they can live close to the nature like the place where they were living before. Safari Parks or National Parks migt be better places to keep them than a zoo.
  5. yes -as long as the zoo is humane.
  6. I dont know any zoos that do not provice proper care for their animals. Many zoos are working towards preservation of endangered species. They have their animals in controlled breeding programs. Some zoos even work towards releasing some of these animals back into the wild. Animals kept in captivity are provided balanced diets, veterinary care, and mental stimulation. The zoos design the habitats to match the animals natural habitat as closely as possible. Im sure there may be some zoos that are not providing for their animals.. but I honestly do not know of any. Most of them are about conservation and preservation.
  7. If you didn't get wild animals to a zoo sometimes the species die out. Zoos play an important part in the animal world. Golden hamsters would have died out if it wasn't for a zoo! (how weird is that!? True fact!) Besides, no one would go to a zoo if all they had was cows and goldfish. I agree though that half starving animals and keeping them badly is awful. Animals should be kept well or not kept at all.
  8. zoo is a public garden or park with collection of animals for exhibition and study. for the maintenance ????
  9. I think it is not at all justified, animals should be left all alone in any jungle where they can find favourable climate and lots of food n water.Imagine if humans have been kept in some places like Zoos wat will happen then?
  10. You may be asking if the conditions are humane but it is definitely important that we keep zoo animals for several reasons. 1.) People who see animals in the zoo tend to want to support humane causes for those animals. 2.) Many species have been saved from extinction by zoo's breeding programs and then being reintroduced to the wild. Plus some species now exist only in zoos. Recently frogs are becoming extinct at an alarming rate and zoos all over the world are trying to save them from extinction with the hope of re-introducing them to their natural habitat when the bug causing them to die is gone. 3.) Education and Medicine. We learn a lot from observing animals, including how to better manage our interaction with them in the wild. We learn how to treat their illness which can be transferred to the wild plus, occasionally, we find cures we can use ourselves from species who display natural immunities.
  11. yes i think so.
