Are there any cross-breeds of religion?
ie. has there been any cross of one religion with another to become a 'cross-breed' with traits of both parent religions.

- wrong term
- Jews for Christ?
- Religion has been splitting appart for the last thousand years or so not combining
- Yes, although the term you are more likely to see is "syncretic." Voodoo is an example of a syncretic religion, for instance. More information on the subject can be found in this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syncretism
- Almost all of them are, some more obviously than others! A few like Baha'i make it plain, other are less open about their roots and their cross-fertilisation. Or were you just thinking of something like Santeria? A search for "syncretic religions", the formal name, will give you lots of information.
- one type of church comes to mind. it is called inter-denominational.
- In Vietnam there is Cao Dai - where buddha, Confucious, jesus and Victor Hugo are saints.
- baptist and catholics lol
- If you scrutinize, you will find all the religions are interlinked mysteriously. Interlinking amongst eastern religions and interlinking amongst Judaism, Christianity and Islam is quite obvious. I think, Christianity is more interlinked with eastern religions than Judaism and Islam because of the presence of the concept of non violence. Hinduism and Islam also have mysterious links.
- Messianic Judaism is a religious movement that differs from mainstream Christianity and from Judaism by combining elements of each into a single faith. Like other Christians, its adherents believe that Jesus of Nazareth, whom they call Yeshua, is the resurrected Messiah and often the Divine Savior Messianic Judaism adds to this some observance of Jewish Law, which is not generally practiced in Christian churches These observances include observing Jewish Shabbat, abstaining from pork, shellfish, and other foods banned by Jewish law, and observing Jewish holidays. As of 2003, there were at least 150 Messianic synagogues in the U.S. and over 400 worldwide. By 2008, the number of Messianics in the United States was around a quarter million. The number of Messianic Jews in Israel is reported to be anywhere between 6,000 and 15,000 members, including the mainly Messianic Jewish village of Yad HaShmona, near Jerusalem . There are 200 Messianic groups in Israel. Although some Messianic Jews are ethnically Jewish, and argue that Messianic Judaism is a sect of Judaism the various streams of Judaism are unanimous in their rejection of Messianism as a form of Judaism. That is sad.
