Who was the greatest race horse of all? Just so you know,?
the greatest racehorse of all time must be, without a doubt, a Hungarian filly by the name of Kincsem. Her name stems from the root word "Kincs" which is Hungarian for "treasure" or "jewel", and the entire word means "My Treasure". Over the course of four full seasons, from ages 2 - 5, she faced the best that all of Europe had to offer, and emerged victorious in all 54 of her races. Both very interesting. I never heard of Carbine, but I've certainly heard of a good number of his descendants. And you are right, the greatest can not be known, only speculated about.

- So this wasn't really a question at all, but more of an informational item that you decided to share with us. I agree that Kincsem was amazing. I have been a fan of horse racing for years, but I had not heard of this horse before a few months ago. Upon discovering her, I was amazed that she was able to accomplish so much. In a time when we marvel over horses with win streaks of 10 or more races, it was awesome to hear that Kincsem was able to accomplish 54 wins at many different tracks in many different countries, including some races against colts. Another fantastic horse that I recently discovered is the Australian legend, Carbine. Not only was he a fantastic racehorse, but he is really the foundation of the thoroughbred breed in that part of the world today. My personal favorite horse is still Ruffian, but it's nice to think about who would have won between Ruffian, Kincsem, and the great mares racing today like Goldikova, Rachel Alexandra, and Zenyatta.
- She truly was amasing, unbeaten records are a rarity especially when you have a horse that starts 54 times. Kmnmiamisax raises a very good point about Carbine, yes he didn't win all of his races but he was only unplaced once due to a bad hoof injury. He won the Melbourne cup and also won 2 races on one day, also he won races from 6 furlongs to 24 furlongs. But I think Carbine is a better horse due to his overall contribution racing. Here is a list of some of his most notable descendants - Nearco, Northern Dancer, Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Ballymoss, Shergar, Arkle, Never Say Die, Mr. Prospector, Nasrullah, Nijinsky II, Royal Palace, Fort Marcy, Better Loosen Up, Sir Ivor, Invasor, Phar Lap, Tulloch, Kingston Town, Bernborough, Rising Fast, Comic Court, Rain Lover, Think Big, Sunline, Makybe Diva, Mine That Bird and Rachel Alexandra. There's not really such a thing as the greatest race horse or even horse ever, because everyone has a different opinion and that's what it is, opinion. Its not possible to really compare horses especially of such calibre, across different times and countries, who achieved different things.
- the pharlap race it was a legued and how he won lots of races all the time.
- I STILL THINK IT IS ZENYATTA.
