Why should schools have an Endangered Animals club?

My friend and I want to talk to our teacher about an Endangered animal club at school. Like Sponsoring animals and doing things to help people understand why they are becoming endangered and how to stop this from happening. How would we do this? How could we raise money to help sponsor animals? Do you think Busch Gardens might help out?

  1. because things are slowly dieing off our earth and unless we protect them we will all eventually die the circle of life will be broken and we will perish.
  2. Life is worth protecting. Plus it beats the chess club!
  3. The club definitely sounds like a good idea, to help promote awareness about endangered animals and what the extinction of species means for the world at large-the bigger picture and what-not. I would do some research into existing charities related to endangered animals. Just a warning-WWF is not actually a good source, as they're not a very efficient organization and hardly any of the money they raise actually goes to animals. But you can research other organizations. As far as fundraisers you could do, you could have a bake sale/farmers market (it would be awesome if some students or teachers grew their own food, and they could sell it for a fundraiser if they were willing, or maybe you could even encourage people to start it as a new hobby!) Also throughout the year you could simply set up a table somewhere with information and ask people for donations (be clear about where the money is going, have plenty of information available)
