Do most dog like the snow? Or do most dogs hate the snow?

I ask because my 2 love the snow. We are lucky if we get a dusting once a year but when it does snow they love to be out in it playing in it. (Supervised ofcourse, we don't have a fenced in yard so we have to take them out on leash) My poodle loves it tremendously, my Terrier/Chihuahua mix is indifferent about it. But then again my poodles just loves being outside and if his little body would let him he would play outside more often Snow or Shine. Anyways the reason I ask is it doesn't bother my two at all. But my grandparents dog hates it, infact if its cold out she refuses to go pee outside. She just stands by the door. She is willing to hold it until it warms up. Snow on the ground, they shovel the bit of snow away for her to use the bathroom but she still won't leave the patio steps. She despises snow and cold weather. Its been a long winter because its been very cold here. (We are in the south we aren't used to these 17 degree days) My parents have a Poodle that refuse to go out in the snow, she is very small though 4 lbs. But she will eventually go if there is a place cleared for her. And I had a poodle and shih tzu that refused to go out in the snow even to play when I was growing up. They would whine and scratch at the door to get back in. So do most dogs hate the snow? (Infact they closed the interstate over the mountains, all we got in Gatlinburg was a dusting and flurries) So maybe mine are just used to the snow? ADD: Yeah I don't get it, my dogs despise the rain but snow is okay in their book

6. I think smaller dogs and dogs without heavy fur would tend to dislike the snow. Heavy coated dogs love it - and big ones don't have to drag their bellies through it, so they seem to enjoy it.
7. All my dogs love the snow, which is a good thing since we just got another 8 inches. We do shovel a path for the Shih Tzu puppy because if the snow gets too deep it is too cold on her belly. Some breeds just do better than others. The Bearded Collies originally came from Scotland so they have a history of being out in the cold. I can't get the Beardies to come in when it snows. They'll lay on the deck until they are covered. On the other hand, they aren't too fond of hot summer days.
8. Depends on the dog... My lab loved it, my 2 whippets hated it, my english setter loved it and my cocker spaniel, surprisingly, loves it. We have snow that is up to her 'armpits' and she still loves to go out in it. Even better if someone goes with her to throw snow at her!
9. my boxer/lab experienced snow for the first time this year. he looked very confused at first, but then decided it was great fun! we have about a foot right now up in MI, and he goes nuts! he growls at it while diving into big piles, chases snow balls i throw, and runs along the sidewalk while scooping up snow to eat haha! i am glad he enjoys it. i think most dogs could care less or dont like the cold.

I'm in the midwest, and right now we are having an artic blast with 6 inches of show(on top of the three feet we have already gotten!) and wind chill factor of -35 and my rotti is begging to go out and play in the snow. My dachshunds flip me the paw and go hide in their beds if I try and get them to go out. ( I do shovel an area for them for potty breaks)
11. My dogs LOVE snow =] But that's probably just their instincts coming out - Snickers is a German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix and Ava's a Siberian Husky. This year is Ava's first winter and she's absolutely obsessed with snow. If we won't let her out to play, she sits by the window and watches it.

Every time it snows here my dogs go crazy in the snow.they love it.i try to bring them inside but they wont come in.ive trained my dogs by keeping them outside in the summer on a really long chain.after a few months i let them off and every time they leave the yard they come right back.i have a collie and a puppy that's very tiny.I think most dogs love snow.My drive way never has snow on it cause my dogs eat it all.lol.Well i hope this answers your question.Have a nice day! =] I dont keep them on the chain any more.The collie was tiny when i got her.just dont want u 2 think im an animal abuser or sumthin like that.Ok,Bye!
13. It all comes down to the dog... and their preference on snow! Just like people, dogs have likes and dislikes. My Chihuahua will go out in the snow, but he definitely doesn't like it. My Golden Retriever Black Lab mix pup love love loves the snow! My sister's beagle thinks its okay..... he will go out in it, but he'd definitely prefer summer, whereas my mom's Rotti will play in the snow with my Retriever mix for hours! So really, it depends on the dog :) Hope I helped! Ps.. Your dogs are adorable!
14. Mine absolutely *loves* the snow! When she knows there is snow on the ground she sits by the door & whimpers to go out & play in it. She runs straight through it, nose first & rolls around. She has a great time. She's just a pup so this winter is her first. The first time she saw snow she ran right into it & took to it immediately. In fact, I just got in from a walk in the snow with her. 15. All my 4 dogs love the snow, they jump at the snow flakes and play.... I think the cold weather makes them more feisty......

17. It depends on the dog. Some love snow, some don't. I've got one of each: an old mixed breed with a heavy undercoat who loves this kind of weather more than any other; and a greyhound with a very thin coat who just wants to stay inside, and needs protection if we go out in this weather.
