- the puppy can be taken away from it's mother at 8 weeks of age. sometimes with toy breeds it's best to wait til they are at least 10 weeks old.
- You'd know if you were responsible and had even researched at all about this.
- At the very earliest 8 weeks but breeders and eta will reccomend 9 weeks large breeds 10 to 12 medium breeds and 14 to 16 for small and toy breeds. The puppy is definatly to young right now
- same as any puppy or kitten. 8 weeks is the minimum. they still need mommy until then. they have to be able to eat solid food and be weined from mothers milk.
- You can start weaning toy breeds at 6weeks, but don't remove them completely until 8-9weeks. But don't keep them longer than 12weeks without proper socialization.
- Since you couldn't be bothered to find this out BEFORE you bred the earliest is EIGHT weeks. TOY breeds like chihuahuas shouldn't go til they are 12 weeks of age. Your sister can wait.
- Since it's at least part Chihuahua, it's probably considered a toy breed and I think they recommend they stay with their family until they're at least 12 weeks old. After that, you can get your dog fixed and make sure all the puppies get fixed too.
- Eight weeks of age has long been accepted as the optimal time to acquire a new pup. By eight weeks, sufficient dog-dog socialization has taken place with mother and litter mates to tide the puppy over until he is old enough to safely meet and play with other dogs in puppy class and dog parks. Yet the puppy is still young enough to form a strong bond with the members of his new family. Here's more info. http://xrl.us/bgemud
- 8 weeks is the absolute MINIMAL age. 10-12 weeks is better. Puppies develop social skills from interacting with mom and littermates.. if you let this puppy go now, it will likely develop into a neurotic little dog with severe separation anxiety and possibly other bad issues, like submissive urination, OCD behavoirs, aggression or fear, etc. Every pup I've seen taken from mom before 8 weeks had issues, the younger it was taken from mom, the worse the behavoirs were.
- Not more than ten months, I think so. Puppies should get plenty of milk from their mother, it is vital for their health and growth. This is how you should bring up a puppy, http://miniurl.com/22882
- Not until 8 weeks old. Tell your sister to wait.
- I would wait until 3-4 months.
