What is the best camera for taking horse pictures?

I need a camera that will take nice pictures of horses, including when taking riding pictures in a poorly lit, dusty arena. Any opinions would be great!! Thank you in advance for anything youcan tell me! The models ive narrowed my search down to are: Canon Rebel Xsi Canon Rebel T1i Nikon D5000 Nikon D90

  2. Hardy because you're going to be in the dust. Fast because you're going to be in low light and your subjects will be moving. And high resolution as you want decent pictures. Also get one with a good service record - nothing like needing a minor repair that takes months of hassling to get done.
  3. I have a Canon Rebel Xsi. LOVE it. I've always had a Canon, and I've heard mixed feelings about Nikon. The Rebel Xsi isn't great for dark indoor arenas, though (either that, or I haven't found the right setting...). If you want one that will be great, you're looking at spending thousands of dollars, unfortunately. But, outside or in decently lit indoors and barns it's always been fabulous as long as you don't get the ISO too high. Really, as long as you get one with a high shutter speed and one that can take several frames per second, I think you'll be happy with it. The best thing you can do is go and try them out. Some retailers will let you take them for a week and if you don't like it, you can return it (but not all, so ask about it first).
  4. For low light situations I love my Nikon. It has a great variable with shutter speeds. I prefer it over my Cannon. I have a Cannon a Nikon and a Pentax. I use the Nikon the most always have and always will. It is my work horse camera. It is by far the most versatile and the one I reach for most often.
