- i actually really like him! a nice face, and a well built body.. all well proportioned, he looks like a very pretty pony. :-)
- He's got good balance with a nice head and neck, but he's straight shouldered with upright pasterns and sickle hocks. I think he would have difficulty getting his hind end under him to dig around the barrels. The owners aren't presenting him as a barrel prospect, and I don't think he is one. Their reason for selling doesn't jibe... selling because they have to many, but they'll trade for a good riding pony? This one's supposed to be a really calm riding horse... must be something else. I also think he's overpriced.
- hes beautiful! I love his body build and his color is amazing, i always loved those light colored chestnuts. :) Good luck on the barral racing!
- I agree with zephania, while he looks relatively well put together, when you look closer he's sickle hocked. That can mean he'll have problems in future including serious problems with lameness. He might ok for trails, but I wouldn't recommend him for fast paced competing.
- He is lovely. He has a good short back and well sloping shoulder which should make him a comfortable ride. He is well muscled which means you wont have to spend months on conditioning, maybe only a couple weeks. Overall he is a pretty horse with a kind eye and well set neck and head. The most important thing is that he is proportional and balanced, that will definitely help with barrel racing.
- The only thing that worries me about this horse is his hind end. His legs are positioned a little too far back for him to be able to get his rear tucked under him to really push around the barrels. His ind end also seems a little under- developed or not as muscled as it should be. He would be a good western pleasure prospect but he doesn't seem like he would be like a good barrel racing prospect. I would look for another horse whose back end is better. That is a MAJOR part of barrel racing. I would look for another horse. Sorry =(
- Although he has a good, solid, muscular build, he doesn't strike me as a barrel horse. He is sickle hocked, but i can't tell how bad it is. This could really effect his soundness and make it harder for him to turn. I'd pass on this guy if you want a horse that you can win on. He strikes me as more of a trail/lesson horse.
- He is beautiful!! And he has a awesome body built!! Honestly I would buy him. But I don't know if he'd make a great barrel racing horse, but you never know!! Try him around the barrels before you buy him (if you are looking for a barrel racing horse only). And by the way the seller(his owner) describes him he sounds like a awesome horse! He is VEEEERY good looking and well proportioned.
- He has a nice shoulder on him, very stocky, the small Qh head. Nice face, looks very sweet. Sounds like a nice horse. I'd try him. The only thing I dont like is in the one pic his hindlegs look off. But maybe just because of his width and his stance. Or he is sickle hocked. He is very upright through the shoulder, and straight backed which may make it harder to get around the barrel, clearly and safely. He doesnt seem to have pics in movement so that makes me wonder if they maybe dont want something seen. Dont buy him unless you see him. Honestly I dont suggest him. I think he could prob do basic 4-H gymkhana, but he wouldnt be great as a barrel horse. Sorry. I say keep looking. But good luck!
- Sure not a very good picture to scrutanize conformation. Before you even go see him, you should she better pictures of him, there could be all kind of conformation problems that you can't see. For heavens sakes when your contemplating getting a horse. Conformation, soundness and disposition are very important. But How he rides is one of the most important. You might love him, his looks, but he may not be the horse for you!! Ride, Ride Ride befor you buy. Lil
