Cross Breeds

Why does it seem that girls that ride horses have awesome bodies.?

Especially their backsides. I am not sure if its the tight tan pants they wear or maybe they build up muscles there. Any ideas

  1. Well usually they run with their horse alot to train it so that could be why
  2. Not all girls (or guys) who ride have awesome bodies. A lot of it depends on what exercise they get outside of riding, as well as the TYPE of riding they do. For instance, someone who does Western Pleasure exclusively won't get as much of a physical workout than say someone who's doing Cross Country or Barrels. Hope this helps!
  3. horses are strong animals, way stronger than the girls who ride them.. it may seem like you're just sitting there.. but it takes alot ALOT of muscle to control a horse... especially the wild ones.
  4. It's probably the daily cardio (running after that stubborn mare who refuses to come in) and weight training (hauling hay bales and western saddles) that comes with horse ownership. Maybe it's something in our horse-loving DNA that makes us so sinewy and lean. But seriously, not all of us have adorable dariares, although we wish we did. Those tan pants certainly don't do anything to flatter an unfit bum. Maybe that's it. Nothing quite like staring at the cellulite-packed backside of an obese English rider in skin-tight translucent breeches to keep you on your diet and hitting the gym. :P
  5. People that ride horses just have a lot of muscle.. thats possibly why.. because girls aren't even 1/4 of the strength that a horse is and it takes a lot of work to control one
  6. LOL!!! Well riding IS exercise.... and you do use your butt muscles alot (gluteus maximus) :D But yeah, not everyone is in awesome shape that rides. If the only exercise you get is riding... chances are you won't be able to stay in shape. Riding is a toning exercise, and not really a cardio workout or anything. It's very difficult to LOSE weight riding, however, it does tone things up a bit. That's why I also run. It supplements my riding a lot.
  7. well if you ride english, theres alot of holding yourself up by posting, and with jumping two-pointing. but i know alot of girls that arent in good shape and ride.
  8. Well, having horses is pretty physically demanding. When I lived in Arizona, I used to have to stack bales of alfalfa that weighed 110 pounds on average. Though the key was really just lifting it up, and so that one edge was resting on your upper thigh. If you tried to just muscle it, you were going to lose. But I also run, and the majority of my muscles are shaped for that.
  9. Riding is exercise. Then there's the training, the mucking, the heavy tack. Making me tired just thinking about it!
  10. Stacking hay and feed sacks, riding, lifting heavy tack, chasing them, climbing, and endless hours of scooping poop. It's excercise at every turn. But, there are people in not-so-good of shape that still ride.
  11. it's bloody hard work, no need to go to the gym.
  12. Because it requires a lot of work if you have a horse between training and cleaning up after the horse.
  13. HAHA Funny Question!
  14. riding is a sport and with all sports you tend to gain muscle, also while riding you usually burn about 1000 calories( i think i can't remember). you usually gain lots of leg muscle.
  15. you've asked several questions about girls' butts, why don't you get a girlfriend instead of trolling on yahoo answers sounding rather perverted? just a thought.
  16. Because it's a lot of work! You have to use your core to balance while riding the horse and you build up a lot of leg muscles. Riding also entails getting your horse caught, saddled, carrying buckets of water, carrying hay bails, muck stalls. If you are a true horse owner doing all that yourself and riding often there's no way you can be overweight.
  17. i'm gonna start doing barrel this summer, i hope, and because you have a lot more work to do than just ride!
  18. Most people who ride horses are in great shape, riding horses can be hard work! Not all of them are though, just a warning xD
  19. Olympic riders and top notch athletes have the BEST riding bodies, because riding is there life and the work out to be fit for just for riding, like they dont just work out and go to the gym and run on the treadmill and lift weights, no they hire a trainer who who knows the human anatomy and what muscles it takes to ride and they work on building there core the most and they work on balance. most local barns small or large the riders and trainers come in all shapes and sizes a thin fit girl that works out could be a worse rider than the chubby girl... so its not always true riders have the best bodies buuuut in most cases it is because serious fat people can't even mount a horse no offense to anyone and riding wont really make you loose weight but it will tone a thin person and give you more muscle! =) but riding alone wont make your body perfect a routine work out plus riding will def give you a nice bod ^_!
