Can Dogs get sick on their first time in the snow?
I have a medium poodle, she's 3, & i live in a not that cold climate, it gets about 45 F the min. I want to take her to the snow, would she get sick? *It would be her first time going. can she be ok for an hour or so?? or maybe even two?

- no she will be perfectly fine she will probablly enjoy the cool weather.
- No, dogs our relatives of wolves. Wolves live in snowy parts of the world... although they might not enjoy it if there small dogs.
- No, she should be fine. Just don't let her get too cold and let her out in it too long - keep in mind she is not used to it and would need to adjust.
- She should be fine. It was my dogs first time in the snow and she got a runny nose... I just dabbed it up with a tissue. She's had a bit of a drippy nose for a couple days. She's acting fine though.
- No it's fine. You can put a little sweater on her to keep her warm but it's not really necessary if you're only going to be out there 5-10 minutes. Poodles can get snow stuck in their hair pretty easy, especially between their pads which can be uncomfortable, so when you take her back inside, check her feet for built up ice/snow melter and then dry her with a towel (we warm towels up in the dryer for our dogs, they love it).
- when it snowed a couple of inches my dog loved it. if it is below 20 they might get a cold depending on the amount of fur they have
