What is the right dog breed for me?

Hello, I am going to get a dog, and i am not quite sure of what breed to get. My parents and I have generally the same things we want in a dog. - Small - Playful - Soft coat - Not going to tear up the house - Easy to train - Preferably wavy hair - Not grey or silver hair - Healthy breed I know it is very picky but that is what I would like. I have had a dog before but sadly we had to put him to sleep because he had hereditary health issues. Hopefully I can find the right dog. 2. I personally prefer a Maltese. They are small, playful, their coat is like silk, too small to tear anything other than toys up, easy to train, no wavy hair, white in color, healthy with proper food and care. http://www.akc.org/breeds/maltese/

5. You could get a Poodle; they come in White,Black,and Red for main colors. There are 3 kinds; Toy, Miniature and, Standard. 6. First - any dog will tear up the house if left alone for long periods. I suggest crate training. I'd suggest a Mini or Toy Poodle - or a Mini Schnauzer. They don't TEND to have health problems but like any dog, they can develop anything. Search on animal planet for poodle info. Schnauzers can be grey but they are beautiful dogs and come in a variety of colours - take a look!
7. I say you should get a Bichon Frise, they are small, happy, playful, intelligent, are friendly with cats, and get along with children. Although they need alot of love and attention, they follow you around the house and sit by your side or on your lap. They are quiet, passive dogs and are easy to train. They bark to tell you if something is wrong and are sensitive and love exploring the outdoors. I have one and they don't like to be alone for a long period of time. Once my Bichon Frise barked to tell me a robber was in my house. They are not grey or silver, they are mainly white.
