How do you get a license to have wild animals like monkeys?

I know you can't just get a wild animal but I also know there are companies that sell wild animals. What do you have to do to be able to have a wild animal? Is there just one license that covers all wild animals or are there specific licenses for each type of wild animal? I'm specific interested in monkeys, giraffes, and lions.

2. It depends on your state. You will have to figure out which agency in your state regulates wild animals as pets. It could be the conservation, or environmental protection department. You should find out the regulations before you decide whether to get the animal.
