Why can't we draw pictures of horses?
I am a big admirer of art of all genres. I have seen many studies of humans that I find quite compelling to look at. Yet, I have never seen a picture of a horse that I didn't find precious.

- because horses don't have quite as exciting social lives as humans..? :D horses are horses, they only do so much. i personally don't feel a huge need of lots and lots of new pictures of horses in the world. if you do, just look them up, there are quite a lot of them out there already.
- There ARE such images of horses made all the time. The thing is, these images will only move the viewer in the way you describe if the viewer is that passionate about them. For example, a nude figure study can effect most humans very deeply, partly because a nude person is not a sight that one can casually observe, on the street, in the country, in mass media or most other places in which humans are seen. But, exept for the occasional blanket, saddle or other tack, a horse IS typically nude. In fact, an image of a CLOTHED horse is usually intended to be and is most often taken as humorous in nature. But believe me, for a passionate horse lover, there are many images of horses they find "precious." Just as an example: I've done some pet portraits. And I can tell you from experience, that a pet owner, including those of horses, they CAn recognize their animal from others. Trust me, if you don't get the eyes just right, if the nose is not exact, the owner will TELL you that it isn't their animal. Just like a photographer can't just take some picture of a random woman on the street and fool you into thinking it's your mother, or sister or wife. Among animals, each is as distinctive from each other as humans are.
