  1. Your "requirements" depend completely on the individual dog as well as how well it has been raised, trained, and socialized. NO puppy is going to be born "perfect." No dog is "cheap", either. Best place for a "low cost" dog is your local shelter. However that won't help you with initial supplies, first vet check, monthly fees, or any other fees (emergencies, boarding, grooming, etc.)
  2. Go to animal shelters and pick one out that you like. Most of them are nice dogs, and they aren't at all expensive. Plus, you'll be able to give a poor pup a new life.
  3. i would try to get one from your local paper be cheaper that way and you get a healthier pup...
  4. The cheapest puppies are at your local shelter. Golden Retrievers are very common, so it should be pretty easy for you to find one. Adoption fees are usually only about $100-200.
  5. You know, I am sure you will hear this many times, but I will say it anyway. I also LOVE golden retrievers. It is extremely surprising to find out that it is common to find them at shelters. I live in Michigan and there is a high kill shelter near me that gets purebred Goldens in very frequently. This is very surprising because they are very beautiful, gentle, and in high-demand. You many even find a puppy there! I would check at shelters first and also at golden rescues!!! You may also put in a breed request to your local shelter. This means that the minute they get a golden, they will contact you! Think adoption first!!! You will not only be saving a ton of money, but also be saving a life!!!!! :) :)
  6. go to the humans society. don't go to a breeder there are dogs that need homes
