Where can you find the history of a retired race horse's career?

I have a retired race horse, more than ten years off the track. I know nothing of her racing career. Is there any way to find out how many times she was raced, where, how she placed etc. I have her registration papers from the Jockey Club of America an of course her registration numbers. Could I find out that way?
