  1. How you do anything is how you do everything. How you train a puppy is how you train a dog. You are not telling us what you need help with.
  2. I have an 8 year old Maltese. if he is potty trained, you are fine. Maltese are lapdogs and very needy of attention. If u put him in a room alone, he will probably bark all night. they are very good pets, though, and very playful. very loyal too. what exactly do you want to know? I hope this helps
  3. Congrats! Maltese dogs are very wonderful!!! 3 Main Things you should know about Maltese a) you should definitly begin training as early as possible, and the most important is potty training. but don't get too frustrated because puppies do have small bladders. b) they are often referred to as "lap dogs," they like to be cuddled and definitly love attention, so it's important that you give it to them! c) they require a VERY good amount of grooming. ---------------------------------------- about potty training I answered a question like this a month ago. you can see the rest of the answer in "My Answers" on my profile. It's on the 3rd page titled "Puppy Potty Training Issues." "Try crate training...it worked really well for me. When your out of the house, put the dog in a crate with possilby water and a toy and a towl, depending on how long ur out :) Also, for now you may want to keep her in a certain room, such as the kitchen or a bathroom or a family room (whichever room you think you are going to be in the MOST) pay attention to when she eats. if you notice she just ate her dinner, in about 15 to 20 minutes take her outside and make sure she goes poop. otherwise, pay attention to how often she needs to go outside. Small dogs with small bladders need to go outside more often, maybe every 30 minutes? We have 9 pound dogs and take them out every 40 mins. This works. We also keep them in the family room, where we mostly are, so we can still pay a bit of attention without having our eyes locked on them. Also, walks are EXTREMELY important! this gets the bowels moving, which causes them to poo. try to get them to poop on walks, though, because if you get their bowels moving then bring em inside...youll get a little suprise. Walking will help with peeing too. This is exxtremely important. With feeding, just pay attention to when she eats a ton of food. Its normal for puppies to eat their...you know....stuff (poo). They will grow out of this habuit. Keep the pee pads in the room you are going to keep her in. also, i keep my dogs sometimes in the kitchen AND The family room (they r connected) and use gates to block of the entrances. I can open the gates, but not the pup. Remember, if you catch ur pup taking a dump, scold them IMMEDIATLY!! this is veryyy important that if you miss *seeing* them going poo/pee, do not scold them. they will get sooo confused. Congratulate when the go potty outside, too!! Also, i recommend a bell on the door that the puppy can learn to use. Just use the puppys paw to ring it before you open that door! My dogs try that but mostly they just sit there or scratch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attention: Here are some fun games to play with you're puppy! 1) Try the "guess which hand game". Put a small treat in one hand, show her the hand, and stick it behind your back. switch it around a few times, then put both **CLOSED** hands back. she will have to sniff and stuff to find it. my dogs love this game. 2) If she will not chase anything then try getting specially scented balls that may attract her to it. if she doesn't like chasing, though, she doesnt like chasing. 3) My dogs love to wrestle with me or chase with me. the only down side is that sometimes the dogs will take this as a lesson and do it in normal circumstances. 4)Walking is greAT! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- as for grooming..... i'd say you might wanna ask you're vet how often to groom. BUT if she rolls in mud or whatnot, you can always give him an emergency bath!!! hope this helps!!! congrats again
  4. personally i dont think maltesers taste that nice not enough chocolate on the white balls in the centre. There abit hard and cruncy too so ur neva sure what your biting into, some also appear to be larger than others which is just confusing.Im not sure how many there is in a pack but there is often abit too much so by the end u feel quite squemish i reccommend minstrels instead. Good luck
