How long should a chihuahua puppies eat and sleep?

My dog sleep like most of the day including night, is that normal? Also i follow the guideline on the dog food to feed at least 1/2 to 1 cup but he always to eat more, should i give him more?

1. Puppies do sleep a lot. They're just like human babies in that respect. For Chi puppies, I like to free feed - that means having a high quality puppy formula dog food available for them at all times. However, and as you may know, Chis and other toy breeds can suffer from low blood sugar, so keeping food available for them at all times will pretty much eliminate that problem. But, I also like to keep a little NutriCal on hand as well, just in case. If he's sleepy and groggy most of the time, low blood sugar could be the culprit. And, make no mistake, it can be deadly. You didn't say how old the puppy is, but they can tire fairly easily. So after he's had a short play period, let him sleep. Get some NutriCal and keep it on hand just in case it is low blood sugar. You might want to have him checked out just to be on the safe side.
2. Dogs sleep 16 hours a day, and puppies sleep more. Let them sleep, don't mess with them. Let them eat until they are full..puppies are growing kids, after all. Let your vet tell you how much to feed an adult, but let puppies eat.
