Why has my male cat adopted four chihuahua puppies for?

I have just fostered 4 chihuahua puppies, and now my male cat thinks he's a mum, he sits in there bed, and licks them all day, and he let's them try and breast feed from him, why is he doing this... I always new my cat was weird but this is just too weird.

1. That is weird. Umm i have no idea why he's doing that, I haven't seen any kind of animals do this kind of thing.
