  1. she is beautiful but they are dumb.( I am not being mean)
  2. Yes, I LOVE them! I fell in love with one that was owned by people that ran rental cabins on Lake Michigan when I was 6, then even more so when I worked for vets. I have owned Boxers since 1988. I had 2 white ones (1 male, 1 female) previously, and currently have a fawn & white male who is an AKC champion, on 'permanent loan' from his breeder. He goes by 'Chip', and is 4 1/2 years old. They are true canine comedians, always up for some fun game, and loyal to a fault. They are smart in an everyday way, not too keen on formal obedience because they don't like the drilling repitition. They are wacky until over 2-3 years old, so owners of young ones, be patient - the best is yet to come! You can see a picture & story about my Boxer on the first page of my 360 blog through here - if you stop by, leave a comment! Always glad to hear from other Boxer afficianados.
  3. I too love Boxers very loyal and loving . One of my very favorite dogs..I like your dogs name too !
  4. i had a boxer that i named buster. he has awesome. he was nothing but muscle with a shiney black coat.
  5. she is very cute. but i can't lie, i have a german shepherd and think that he is the best dog ever!
  6. they are extremly friendly dogs i love them .. she is so cute ... i wish i could steel her away!!!!
  7. My brother has a boxer and I agree that they are good dogs. If I had a bigger house maybe I'd have one...the pug has my heart. My nephew dog, Rocky, is the greatest boxer EVER. He is soooo smart and kind and nice and BIG .... he is a 'leaner'= He has the biggest baddest meanest bark I think I have ever heard in a dog ever. but he is the opposite of that . Good dog. Pug first then a boxer.
  8. My sister had a boxer, his name was Hooch. He was brindle as well. He was a protector , and a licker, and loved kids too. He loved to play hide n seek. I use to Doggy sit for her and her husband. My husband and I would dress him up, and he loved it. He would never poop in anyone Else's yard no matter how many blocks we walked. I would undo the leash from his collar and he would make a dash to the back yard and go behind the garage. I loved that DOG! He was eight and had cancer of the bladder. He passed away last fall, the age of 9.............
  9. I ADORE Boxers!!!! The only dog my family has ever owned for at least three generations are Boxers. When I was only 1, my mother brought Gretchen into our lives. She was my best friend growing up. I swear that dog knew what I was thinking and could understand English. Almost 15 years after she passed away, I still get excited and emotional thinking about her. How can one dog make such an impact in my life? Now, in my late 20's and just starting out in life, I've had to make some very hard decisions regarding Boxers. My husband is a Marine and we move around alot. We can't always live in a house with a big yard, and we're moving to Seattle next and will probably be in a tiny condo down-town. I had the opportunity to receive a free pure-bred Boxer from a friend who knew how much I love the breed... and I graciously said no. As much as I love those dogs, I knew it would be unfair to not give the dog a good home to play in. So until we're more stable, I'm settling for petting my life-sized ceramic statue (painted by my great-great-aunt and passed down to me!). And Kelly is precious! I love brindles!
  10. I don't have a boxer dog, but yours sounds sweet I don't like crates for dogs. I like for them to be free to roam the house as normal. Right now I have a 14 year old american eskimo/spitz. He has never had a crate and sleeps at the end of my bed. at his age right now I just have to make sure I take him out often so he don't have urine accidents but he still sleeps through the night without any prob. I have to carry him up and down steps because he is going blind and can't see well, but once outside he does well sniffing his way around the yard to do what he needs to do. He is a lot slower because he has a deteriated disc in his back and he eats a lot slower and uses softer dog food because he has lost 15 teeth, but I love him like as if he were my child. I also adopted him throught the dog pound. I wouldn't go any other route because them dogs from the dog pound generally need special loving that I love to offer. You have a wonderful evening and good luck in finding a good home for that boxer.
  11. OMG..i love boxers. They are the most awesome dogs i have ever seen..or had the privelege of owning. I have a white boxer named Brutus and he is 4 years old now. Boxers are such amazing dogs, they are loyal, sweet, gentle...even though they are muscular and can be very big. My boxer is 70 lbs...and loves to be a lap dog..any chance he gets. He loves to follow me around the house, no matter where i am..and make sure he can see me at all times..he is a big baby....but boxers are the sweetest dogs..in the world. They are unlike any other dogs...and omg..they love to give kisses...hahah. I would definitely recommend owning a boxer..if you ever have the chance. And just to put all the myths to rest...my white boxer is not blind..nor deaf...and doesnt have cancer. The only difference..between Brutus..and a fawn or brindle boxer..is his color. BOXERS ROCK!!!....
  12. She is a gorgeous girl. Congrats! PS its great you adopted thank you for saving a life!
  13. She's so pretty I have two the female is a fawn ones name is scarlett and the brindle one is bear.He could be smart but he desides not to be but scarlett is really smart i bet your dog is smart too!and they are 6(scarlett)and 2(bear).
  14. Yes, they are the best dogs ever. My parents boxer Spartacus just passed away last week at almost 15 years old, and was still as sweet as a puppy. He was solid white and completely deaf from birth, but he could still sit, speak, lay down, shake, and fetch by hand signals. He will be missed. Now I have my little Maximus, a four month old brindle. He is so much smarter than any of my friends' dogs, by 12 weeks old he was already sitting and shaking, and now there is little he can't do. We trained him with the same hand signals we used for Sparty , along with voice commands and he caught on like a born winner. I would suggest similar training for any dog. I'll send a picture or two your way if I can figure out how...
