  1. go to dog school
  2. Geez, lotsa luck! It's a pit bull, for pete's sake! They were *bred* to be aggressive toward other dogs. Essentially, if you don't want problems keep it away from other dogs.
  3. Not really much training to do-- but a WHOLE LOT of socialization.
  4. Actually i know people that walk around with pitbull not on a leash. Train them like you would train any other dogs. Pitbulls brains aren't as intelligent but it'll happen if you try. by training DVD's
  5. If she is already showing aggression, you need to enlist a professional behaviorist or trainer to design a customized program. Make sure you use a professional who advocates the use of positive training and no fear/no force techniques. Attempting to address this by yourself can make the problem much much worse. There are so many root causes of aggression, a professional needs to evaluate the dog to determine the best way to correct it. Once a dog has exhibited dog aggression, you can not ever trust them 100% to be alone with another dog again. If she is not showing any signs of aggression, and you are just concerned with it not developing in the future, the key is socialization. Expose her to lots of other carefully selected dogs in safe environments. Introduce a variety of different breeds and sizes of dogs to her, treat for good behavior, do this in lots of locations. The more good experiences you can provide for her, the better. Add: DO NOT put a choke chain on your dog and yank it when she lunges toward another dog. All that will teach her is that other dogs mean she experiences pain and will actually worsen her aggression. That is an excellent example of how not to ever address aggression and why it's a bad idea to try and do this without the help of an experienced professional.
  6. Your dog needs to be around other dogs and get used to them. Get a choker-chain necklace, take he somewhere where there is another dog, but somewhere, where she can not attack the other dog (like inside a fenced area, opposite the dog), every time the dog lunges, ect. yank the chain.
  7. I have no idea why Oregano 1 got a thumbs down. His is the best answer and covered everything. Go with what he is telling you. And you little 'thumbs down' child out there, go read a book.
  8. it's a pitbull what do you expect? That's why in England it is illegal to breed them.! Get a muzzle on it before it savages someone. If youwant a friendly dog then you should have got a lab or something.
