its about these men who buy a greyhound to race on the track and it turns out it can't so they sell it to some gypsies and it turns out to be a good coursing dog and the former owners try to steal him back the movie is a few years ago now

No idea, but I have to recommendations for you for movies: The Chumscrubber - don't let the name fool you, its actually an epic tale about how America and its over the counter drug problem in schools and stuff. Hard to explain, just watch. Charley Bartlett - Similar to The Chumscrubber, but its about a high schooler who wants to get noticed/popular, so he sells over the counter drugs. Rx nation.

3. i know the one, its irish right?the celtic greyhound or something like that i think.....
4. The Mighty Celt? could be that think Robert Carlyle was in it.
