How can I become a "surrogate" mom for a lion cub or other wild animals?

I want to be a surrogate mother for orphaned wild baby animals. I really would like to work with lions, but any animal really would work. Where can I find information to do so as a job? I want to do what they do on Growing Up: Lion. What type of schooling is required? or a surrogate for a wolf! That would also be amazing. Wildlife rehabilitator for orphaned animals is a better way of putting it i guess.

  1. Some zoos have programs with wildlife but that would require you to be a keeper. There are also wildlife rehab centers that you can work at, but depending on exactly what you want to do there it might require schooling as well. If you are talking about something out of your home that would require a wildlife rehab license which you can obtain through your state Department of Natural Resources or Department of Fish and Game. Most of them require you to take a series of classes and obtain various licenses to keep the animals on a temporary basis in your home. They require such a license because it prevents any Tom Dick or Harry from pulling wildlife out of their natural habitat to raise. You should be able to do a google search by your state for a rehab license. As far as schooling goes, like I said it depends on who you work for and if the position is full time, part time or volunteer. The hire you go though, the more schooling you will need to have. If you have other questions let me know.
