What is so terrible about caring for injured and trapped wild animals?

My friends think that it is stupid to care so much for wild animals and they think that I am overemotional. Am I?

  1. Nothing at all, what your doing is great, i would do the same myself, i love animals. If only more people were like you and ignore your friends.
  2. Tell your friend that shes not being nice to animals. Your not being stupid at all my uncle donates money to our local SPCA. He foster cares them and have you noticed? There has been advertisements on stop animal cruelty. I am emotional over the commercials about the dog that has been left in the pound but at the end he got a home. So to answer your question you are not being overemotional. Be safe
  3. No. Your friends are dumb!
  4. There is nothing wrong with wanting to help but sometimes when you help, more damage can be done than good. Take wild rabbits for example, the mother doesn't stay in the nest 24/7, so people assume that the rabbit kits have been abandoned. That's not always the case because mom is just a few feet away feeding and keeping a close eye on her kits. People step in, remove the kits and end up causing the death of the kits because supplement milk is not the same as mother doe's milk. Plus, they feed rabbit kits adult rabbit food and their little digestive systems can't handle it. That's not to say that stepping in at times is not a good thing. When you care this much about wild animals, it shows that you are a good person. But you must understand that wild animals are better left in the wild most of the time, unless there are extreme circumstances as to why you need to domesticate them.
  5. um well if ur stupid so am i. we are like the same. high five! don't ask me if ur stupid. that would be like asking me if i were stupid. ;) sorry if that confuses you..... i think there is something wrong with your "friends". There is nothing wrong with caring and loving animals!
  6. When you say caring for do you mean nursing them back to health or caring that they are injured or trapped? Either way there is nothing wrong with it. However, if you are the type of person to go on and on and on about it then that would get annoying.
  7. There is absolutely nothing wrong for taking care and helping wild animals! You are doing an excellent thing! You should get better friends, in my opinion. I love animals! :)
  8. NO
  9. I cannot rate your emotional level. Caring for animals, either wild, or domestic is nice. However, I'd urge you to be careful when dealing with any animal that does not know YOU. Your intentions may be good, but they do not necessarily know that. It may be best to notify someone with trained experience, if you encounter an injured animal. As for wild babies; Unless you know that their parents are "gone", leave them be. Do not touch them, or go near them. IF the parents return, and smell your scent, they may abandon the baby(s), leaving them at risk. You may mean them no harm, but those parents only know what is instinctive to them, not your good intentions.
  10. Good for you. Now if you have husband and children and you are neglecting them, then you need to re evaluate. I don't like to see animals suffer either.
  11. im in a similar situation. i recently became a vegetarian, and i gave my fruit snacks that have gelatin in them away to a friend. they all got in this huge thing about almost how im being ridiculous and emotional. i felt really attacked. but i later got over it, and that's what you will do in some time. and you are not being over emotional.
