Why we should protect animals? If they extinct is there any harm to human beings?

We are spending more money and time is research and protecting animals. I could not understand why we spent? Is there any harm to us if yes what is that pleas explain me.There are so many animals which were extinct from the earth what happen to us? for ex dinosaurs.I hope you have understand my doubts. Please clarify my doubts.

1. there is something called HUMANITY...we have brain we can think for them having such negative thought for animals is quit wrong. U know there is something called FOOD CHAIN.. animals use to maintain this, if they got vanished from the earth no doubt that we will also get the same. Nature has its own science of getting maintained, the major part is played by animals only. and how will u feel when animals think the same for us.. love them and help those who help for the betterment..
2. it effects the food chain, supposedly there is a plant which humans do not eat and all Deer do, If deers get extinct those plants will have overgrowth and all the animals for eg, tiger which feed on deer will deplete in population. So at some point it will affect human food grains and resources. It will disturb the natural chain of food. try searching for DoDo story, the DODO plant is also extinct with it. some animals besides food contribute in other ways to earth
3. Have you ever wondered why in a forest there is balance of all animals living;i.e herbivorous and carnivorous, it's not like the lions and tigers kill all the deers and they get extinct. Humans are getting greedy. The earth follows a life cycle but humans are cutting down forests and killings animals for agriculture and mining purposes. We are taking more land which is meant for the plants and animals.In this way we are disturbing the balance. Check the below article and see the "Impact on human population" section. 4. Animals are needed because there is a certain food chain that equires them to be on the planet. Each animal gives and takes some essential element for us.. For instance- what if frogs went extinct?? Well, there would be a LOT more bugs. If flys went extinct, then there would be a lot less frogs.. And guess what eats frogs and toads? A certain type of snake called the eastern hognose. So if flys went extinct then so woud frogs and toads, then so would the snake.. See? If the snake went, then the hyena that eats the snake would be next.. And so on and so forth.. So you see.. Everything works together. If the hyena went extinct, first, though- there would be less food for the scavengers, and less flowers and plants resulting from the fertilizer that the corpse creates for the insects to feed from.. and the cycle begins all over. OK? Extinction is bad news.
5. Perhaps you have by now read all of the answers. It is Man who has disturbed the ecology of Earth.Ironically it is the Man only who can restore the ecological balance. We need Ecological balance for our own good and survival. If ecological balance is disturbed beyond the powers of Nature to recover, then there will be no chance for humans as well. Talking about extinction of dinosaurs, It was done by Nature itself. Man was nowhere in picture then. Would you like to believe, that a part reason why they became extinct is also due to their ecological balance being disturbed? Not all of them are extinct. Rhinoceros, Turtles, Alligators and Crocodiles etc have survived till today. Therefore Man must make efforts for his own good to help Nature work in the best manner which she has been doing for Millions of years.
6. How would humans going extinct harm anything on Earth? Actually it would be the best thing that could hapen to Earth and its life forms. You would be fine with slaughtering every living thing that you felt like? Hope you don't own pets! I much rather protect animals from people like you. Why should we protect you or your family? If you all die, it does no harm to the rest of us.

9. yes ,their is harm 2 us.because life of living beings on the is FOOD CHAIN .i.e..,the cycle starts from sunlight frm sun,water frm hydrosphere,co2 from atmospher are taken as food for plants,this plants are food for animals &humans,animals are also food for humans,next after death of plants,animals,humans this are taken food for micro organisms,next for neutrents,next for plants.this process is called food chain
