What do the songs 'Angie' and 'Wild Horses' by the Rolling Stones mean to you?

I think they're both really deep songs, and Id like to know what you think they mean or what they mean to you. :)

  1. I haven't really heard Wild Horses in a while, but angie definitely makes me think of a break up. It's like they both tried their best, and don't want to break up, but they can't help that they're drifting. You cant say were satisfied But angie, angie, you cant say we never tried Angie, youre beautiful, but aint it time we said good-bye? Angie, I still love you, remember all those nights we cried? All the dreams we held so close seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear: Angie, angie, where will it lead us from here?
  2. Wild Horses will be played on my funeral
  3. Angie is a song about Keith Richard's daughter Angela, but I can see how it can be mistaken as a love song. Wild Horses sounds like a love song about a woman with a lot of emotional baggage and Mick is vowing to stick with the relationship despite all the problems.
  4. Wild Horses....In the liner notes to the 1993 Stones collection Jump Back: The Best of The Rolling Stones, Jagger states, "Everyone always says this was written about Marianne but I don't think it was; that was all well over by then. But I was definitely very inside this piece emotionally." Angie...Questions about the song's origins have never ceased. Despite wide-ranging rumors that "Angie" was written by Jagger about a relationship he had with David Bowie's wife Angela, Jagger denies this. Richards claims to have come up with the title and chord sequence a year before production on the album began. In the liner notes to the compilation disc Jump Back, Richards says, "I'd recently had my daughter born, whose name was Angela, and the name was starting to ring around the house. 'Angie' just fitted." take care dave
