Win/Place/Show - How popular is betting on race horses (karera) in the Philippines?

my lolo was schooled in san lazaro. i just have to ask, uso pa ba ang karera sa atin? do a lot of ppl still bet on horses?

1. Horse Racing is still very popular. In our barangay, we have two off-track betting stations ( OTBs ). One of the OTBs is near our place. I estimate around 30 to 50 people watching the TV when the race is on-going. Have a nice day !
2. so popular,that a man will sell his wife to have money to bet at the races.
