Cross Breeds

How big would this puppy get when it reaches it's adult stage?

Ok, so I put an ad on Craigslist for a puppy. A guy emailed me telling me that he has a 9 week old Lab/Husky mix. The dad was a mini-lab and the mother was a husky but she was rather small for her breed. The puppy is a female, blonde, with a white mask. He says that she looks more like a lab than a husky. I heard that more genes come from the father than the mother so how big will the puppy be? He didn't include any pictures unfortunatly but I've been looking at pictures of husky/lab mixed pups to get a better image of what she might look like. I know that average huskies get rather large, but does the smaller size of the mother matter? And again, the father was a mini-lab (which I know are usually runts of a labrador litter), so I just basically want to know what you guys think. I am 15 and this will be my first dog I've had. I live in a smaller house so a big dog won't be good for me so that's why I asked you guys. Thanks alot! Mini Labs are real because I have read up on them. The puppy was already taken to a vet to get de wormed so I imagine the vet determined it had the genetics of a mini lab. Don't you think? And also the first answerer is a vet or something and they didn't say anything about "fake" mini labs...

  1. If the parents are not all that big I would guess 30-50 lbs but if they are big 60-100 lbs. You just have to kinda wait and see cause both the breeds are going to be big.
  2. there is no such thing as a "mini-lab" dont fall for him,the puppy could easily be a throwback of either and become huge, you dont want to get a puppy from a BYB you never know what your getting please check out http://www.petfinder.com they have small dogs and large dogs,at fair prices, and you will be saving a life.
  3. there's no such thing as a "min lab" also it doesnt matter what parents are what breed.. dogs get genetics from BOTH parents. It can be the size of a husky or the size of a lab.. the smallest this dog would likely be is around 40-50 pds, but it could potentially get up to 60 pds or more. Just because the parents are smaller does not mean the puppy will be small.. there is also "throwback" genetics.. the puppy can potentially end up larger than the parents.
