  1. shouldn't the judge say whether he is a 1st place horse or not? he is pretty, but he needs more muscle in the hindquarter, and you need to teach him how to round up and collect.
  2. not sure what you mean by first place horse but he does have good looks and he seems to be very healthy for a 19 year old horse he would be a great pet but since he is a retired race horse you should give him a brake dont ride him around to much just let hime run free out in a field hah
  3. you cant really judge by pictures, video would be better and still then it depends on the competition. cute hrose tho!
  4. To decide if he gets first place a person needs to have something to compare him to and needs to know what the class is.... halter? Jumping? English pleasure? This horse is ok for 19. He does look his age... And the other poster is right. he would look much better at the canter if he rounded his back and collected himself but at 19 I think that what you have is all you are going to get. But if he is a blue ribbon horse in your eyes that is great.
  5. He's cute and looks like a decent mover... but he's only as good as the person sitting on him! Even in classes which only judge the horse, the rider is still indirectly judged by how good they make the horse look!
  6. i agree that he's beautiful, but i don't know why you are using such a loose rein with him. it is encouraging him to stretch his neck out longer than it should be, so he is not on the bit, round, or collected. did you win anything? i think getting him to be nice and round and working will not only make him look more like a winner, but it will develop his hindquarters so he is more fit. though he looks great for 19 yrs old!
  7. Depends on what your competition is and how well your horse works. Can't tell any of that from photos. He needs more weight on him. You can see his ribs and his hip bones or protruding a little. He is cute though.
  8. What do you mean by 1st place, I thought you meant beauty, but in the photos it looks like you are doing dressage, but he is very handsome, and has a bright nicce coat, and looks healthy. I fell in love with his pictures, he is really pretty, WOW, nice coat really! and looks like a good riding horse, but since he is retired don't ride him so much. =D HORSES<3
