Other types of dogs like the mini Goldendoodle?
I am still trying to get my mom to let me get a dog. I really badly want a mini goldendoodle or something along those lines. Are there any other dogs like this. I asked this question earlier and got some.. lets just say not so nice answers that didnt even answer my question. Soo I have already addopted 3 animals from an orphanage and I would like this dog because it is small and yes it is cute. But it fits my life.

- a labradoodle and poodles sort of
- There are lots of cute mutts available.
- Assuming you are planning to adopt again, go to petfinder.com and look under poodle -- mixes will come up in the search, as well.
- I was once in your position. I wanted a "Goldendoodle", but I quickly learned that they aren't worth it. However, if you want one, please adopt one. There are no "breeders" of these mixes, and if you are going to argue with me about that, let me define the meaning of a "Reputable Breeder". A Reputable Breeder is one who takes great attention and care into improving a breed, and not one who breeds for money and popularity of a breed. The "Goldendoodle Breeders" are not reputable breeders because, they are not striving to improve the breed, since there is none, and they are breeding for popularity and selling the dog for such ridiculous prices. There is no breed standard for any doodles or oodles that don't start with a P, or any mix that ends in a Poo. As for you question: I'd get either a Poodle, Golden Retriever or Labrador Retriever. No, they do not require more exercise a "Goldendoodle" would need, since you can't predict how much they do require. If you refuse to adopt a "Goldendoodle", then adopt a purebred. Please don't go to these "Goldendoodle breeders" and get your dog there. It's not worth it.
- A mutt. Those dogs all have one thing an common. They are all mixed breeds! Mutts!
- There are lots of mutts ... go to petfinder.com
- Heres a list of glorified, overpriced, designer mutts. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/poodlemix.htm
- There are many other small cute dogs that are actual breeds. I would look at the AKC website and find one that suits you. There are plenty of dogs out there. I doubt you are so unique and special that there isn't a preexisting breed that would work for you. Designer mutts are irresponsibly bred by "breeders" who are only in it for one thing. $$$$$ Don't support BYBs and puppy mills in this way. Just because you have adopted three animals does not make your search for a BYB/ puppy mill dog okay. If you want a silly named mutt look in a shelter. Many of these "poo" mix dogs end up in rescue because people don't really know what they are getting in to when they purchase them. They don't turn out the way the breeders said they would (because there is no predictability with mutts) and the owners dump them. They even have their own web site, www.poomixrescue.com. If you look at why most were surrendered it is because they needed too much exercise or had bad temperaments. They often need someone "home all day" or a "fenced in yard" If your mom doesn't want a dog, you will have to be happy with the three animals you already have. Your mom will be the primary care giver and financial contributor to the dog, not you. If she says no there is nothing you can do. Your mom is older and smarter than you, you should listen to her.
