What makes dogs love a certain type of person?

All of the dogs I have known, even meeting for the first time, are initially aggressive and barking but after a few minutes, jump on me, want petted, sit on my lap, one even climbed on my back when I was sitting on the couch. What makes dogs love a certain type of person? Is it just my personality or what?

1. I guess if you're not afraid of them, and you really mean no harm, they like you.
2. it can be the the personal scent that you have. Some people seem to attract animals more. Usually O blood type.
