Does your cat sleep under your sheets?
My kitten crawled into my sheets last night to play with my feet. When I yelled at him to stop, he paused and thought it over. Then he backed up fell asleep by my shins, where he remained until morning. I thought he would get hot or have a hard time breathing, but he was perfectly comfortable. I know he likes sleeping near me, but this was a little extreme. I just want to know if anyone else has had a cat burrow down this far down to sleep.

- one of my cats would curl up under the blankets when its cold. its normal. they like the close space and they like the warmth. when they get to hot or something they will always come out of the blankets.
- cute
- No, neither of mine sleep under the sheets. They do, however, LOVE to be under the sheets when I'm making the bed.
- no but my friend has a dog that does the same thing and i thought the same thing as you but he is 4 years and is as healthy as ever. so i wouldnt be worried at all about your kitten. when i sleep over at her house he sleeps all the way under the covers right in between us and he is just fine. He actually doent like sleeping on top of the covers
- Yup! My fat cat named Tippy! She loves sleeping under the covers!
- Hehe! I don't need extra blankets in winter, because my kitties keep me warm. I have three. Layla is my little dumb kitty, she likes to be right by my feet, under the blankets and sheets and things, and she sleeps there all night with me. She can't JUST be by my feet, she has to snuggle up right next to them. Lucy is my baby. She sleeps curled up between my chin and breasts (I sleep on my side), and she purrs and I can feel it on my throat. I usually have an arm around her, but she likes being under the covers so I have to pull the blankets over my head even though I feel kind of suffocated that way. Loki is my biiig fat boy. He grew out of sleeping with me a long time ago, so he ONLY does this when he thinks I'm sleeping, and he doesn't know I'm watching! He really gingerly creeps over to me, and then lays a few inches from my side. Then as the night progresses inches closer and closer until he's a big furry ball sleeping on top of the covers by me. So cute. But yes, to answer your question, kinda, cats are fine like that. You could breathe under your sheets, and your cat needs FAR less oxygen than you do. No worries, your baby is fine. Make sure to encourage him to sleep with you if you want him to in the future! I kicked Loki out of the bed when I woke up with him kneading my head. Now I miss the way we used to snuggle. :(
- My cat did this all the time when she was a kitten. We raised her as an orphaned kitten and always walked around with her in our jackets so that's why we thought she enjoyed being under blankets so much. She would wedge herself in between me and my husband when we were sleeping and for some reason enjoyed sleeping in that tight spot. To this day you can throw a blanket or comforter over her and she will fall asleep almost instantly. I was also concerned about whether she was warm, but she comes out when she wants and doesn't seem to mind the heat. Her favorite spots to sleep when under the blankets are around the feet or curled up against my stomach and chest if I am laying on my side. It can get a little annoying though when she tries to push herself under at all hours of the night :)
- Yes most cats do this for comfort to be with someone, even my cat does this. i wouldnt sugesst letting him do it on hot nights, just as a precaution, but to let you know if your cat feels like the air is to thick to breathe under the blanket or becomes uncomfortable under the sheets it will crawl out. So no need to worrie :)
- Oh my goodness, I thought the same thing when my kitten first did this! I thought she was going to suffocate! She does this all the time, so I'm assuming it's normal, but what I do is after a while, maybe about 3 or 4 hours if I'm still awake, I pull her out, or at least bring her to the top. If I get really worried I just put her under a throw blanket with me, that way it's not stuck to the bed and it's easier for her to get out.
- My cat usually sleeps nestled in my arms at night... but when it storms he crawls under the sheets and sleeps with his stomach on my mine, stretched out with his head up by my chin. He also LOVES to nap cuddle in my arms like a baby when he sleeps!
- My 14 year old cat likes to lay under my bedspread after I make my bed up. It's funny to walk in my room and see a big bump in the middle of my bed. That's my gal!
