Will I get in trouble if I subtly poke fun of other series-es?

OK,not subtly, but not one hundred percent outright. I want to make a web-comic spin off based off a book series I'm writing. I originally planned to make them into spin off books, but I'd rather comic it. While my book is realistic, this one is a fantasy parody. It lacks the seriousness of the main series. It's more or less like Penny Arcade,or VG Cats. Any who,if I poke fun at other series-es,like Twilight, etc will I get in trouble? My main series has these things too, though they have counterparts. For example, instead of Mickey Mouse, there's "Rodney Rabbit",who is only subtly like Mickey, and instead of "Twilight",there's an unnamed series based upon a school of vampire, and their rival school of wizards. ?

  1. it depends how you do it if you come right out and say stuff about it then get famous you could get in trouble for slander or whatever but if you give the characters different names but make it obvious who you are talking about you wont get in trouble but people will easily catch on
  2. as long as you arent using copyrighted names. IE: in futurama, when they make fun of FOX, they call it BOX i dont even know how south park does it without having to work around copyrights- maybe they get permission, or maybe they just have enough money they can take a hit and get sued every time.
