What are small dogs that are good with Golden Retrivers?

My Birthday is coming up and i want a dog for my birthday what are small dogs that are good with golden retrivers.

1. Since any dog is good with a Golden, I suggest a nice trip to the shelter (bring your Golden along) and have your Golden pick one out for you.
2. Goldens get along with any friendly dog. My goldens are friends with a greyhound, a whippet, two corgis and a shih tzu. Get whatever suits you. You are likely to find a great dog at a shelter. Take your dogs and let them pick out their friend.
3. I have a little chichi so of course I am biased.. BUT I will say that any dog will be good as long as it is socialized well. They need to be around other dogs from a young age, and not have been taken from the mother too soon. Also being around other people and kids early on really allows them to be social and loving. Additionally if you are the leader of the pack with your retriever then any dog you get will not have a problem. They always follow the leader and you teach them this through walks and training. If you have that and your dog is obedient the new dog will follow suit. They are much happier when you take charge and you can add many dogs to a pack with a solid leader and have no issues...
