How does one get into Breyer horse showing?

I collect Breyers, and customize using the pastel method, but I haven't the least notion of how to get into showing my horses. I live in the DC area, mabye there are some places to show there?

2. Well are you looking to live show or photo show? There are some great places online to find both. You can look at http://modelhorsesalespages.com/sales/ under photo and live shows. Look for free photo shows when possible. The Model Horse Gallery has a listing for live shows at http://modelhorsegallery.info/PR/LScalendar.html NAMHSA (North American Model Horse Showers Association) has a number of Yahoo Groups, see if you can find one for around you. The people there should be helpful to a newcomer. Breyer has a listing for live shows on their site at http://www.breyerhorses.com/events/ but it is poorly maintained and rarely do showholder bother to list their shows there. The owner of Distant Fire Ridge (http://www.freewebs.com/distantridge/ ) holds many free photo shows that are very nice and well organized.
