What happens to animals that have been abused? Like what type of rehabilitation do they go through?
I'm doing a speech on animal cruelty and I need information on "rehabilitation of the animals" after they undergo animal cruelty.

- Sorry, I can't answer that question. I eat dog... sorry!
- I have a very good friend who is in animal rescue. She is particularly involved with dogs but I am sure that the same things apply to all animals. They take them under their wing and quite successfully they manage to find new owners. Then it is a matter of a lot of patience on the part of the new owner and tender loving care the dog will recover and become sort of normal again. It basically is teaching the animal not to be afraid because an abused animal is normally very afraid of humans. In the case where animal control has got the animal and a new owner is not found in a very short period of time then it is put to sleep. I am sure that all farm animals for example horses are found new owners if they are not so seriously abused that recovery is not possible. Hope this helps.
